The goal was to create a custom 3D Inkjet Printer by modifying an existing 2D model. The printer would enable movement in the XYZ plane through the use of a print head motor for X-axis motion, a sliding print head for Y-axis movement, and a lowering platform/powder bed for Z-axis adjustment. This project taught about 3D printer mechanics, inkjet technology, involved materials, motor control systems, basic programming, and cost considerations in prototype development.
