3D Ingress Logo

I created an ingress logo model that appears three-dimensional when viewed from an isometric perspective. Initially, I made it as an attempt to obtain an invite while also practicing the modeling of unusual shapes using a standard CAD program. To print this object, you may need to rotate or center it on your build platform since Solidworks' XYZ axes differ from typical STL viewers. Feel free to modify the .sldprt file to see how I made it or make changes yourself. Printing requires support or exceptional bridging abilities, and the cube measures 70x70x70 millimeters. If you don't use suckback during printing, leftover strings can serve as support in some cases. Cleanup is inevitable after printing. I printed this model using ABS on a customized Prusa Mendel. Be cautious when removing the print from the bed, as the 6mm x 6mm cube edges can be fragile if layer adhesion isn't excellent.
