Faceted glass, also known as Malenkovskaya, originated in the Soviet era and is still commonly used today in catering establishments and passenger trains due to its strength and durability. The classic faceted glass has a diameter of 65mm, height of 90mm, and holds 250ml of liquid. Made with an even number of faces (typically 12, 14, 16 or 18), these glasses are designed to be dishwasher-friendly and more durable than traditional cylindrical glasses. Although the origin of the faceted glass is uncertain, it is believed that Vera Ignatyevna Mukhina or Nikolai Slavyanov may have played a role in its development. Chemical glasses, on the other hand, are used in laboratories and resemble a simple cylinder with a spout for easy liquid drainage. They are usually made of heat-resistant glass but can also be plastic, and come in various capacities from 5ml to several liters.
