3D Cubic fractal

3D Cubic fractal

thingiverse

This is a 3D fractal designed for a math project using the 123D Design Software. A cube serves as the foundation, its faces divided into a repeating tiling pattern of five diamonds with equal areas. On each face, the central diamond remains intact while the four surrounding diamonds are extruded in the 3D modeling software to create a new level of complexity. The process is repeated within the middle diamond, creating an intricate design. For this project, the pattern was replicated three times, but I encountered an issue that proved difficult to resolve. Upon examining the bottom face of the cube, it becomes apparent that two of the second-level pattern diamonds refused to extrude properly, leaving them incomplete.
