3D Cosine Wave With Nifty Colors

thingiverse

This is truly impressive three-dimensional cosine/sine wave created with OpenSCAD! Each distinct unit is a cylinder, with height determined by a trig function and coordinates. The color of each cylinder is generated using trig functions based on their position on the plane. I employed cos for red values, sin for green, and all three - cos, sin, and tan - for blue hues, although that was likely excessive. Sorry there are so many pictures! There's just a multitude of cool things you can do with the color function, and I didn't want to upload code for each one, so I took a lot of screenshots instead.
