3D Connexion Space Navigator Box
thingiverse
This is a protective enclosure specifically designed for the cabled 3D Connexion space navigator. It securely holds the mouse by its base and features a designated area to neatly coil the cable. For optimal results, it's recommended to insert the cable end first, followed by rotating the base to roll in the cable. The design provides excellent protection despite being slightly oversized. In my experience, the screw-on lid does not come loose on its own but instead tends to stick well, requiring careful handling when tightening. If over-tightened, the lid can become excessively secure, effectively locking the six arms of the base into place, making it extremely sturdy. I have successfully utilized this enclosure with layer heights reaching as high as 0.15mm, although I haven't experimented with larger settings. It was printed using the original Prusa MK2S printer. To avoid unnecessary support material, the Lid1 part should be printed upside down. Edit: A Fusion 360 model file has been added for anyone looking to modify the design to suit their specific printer needs. Please note that this model was created during my learning process with Fusion, and as a result, it may exhibit some unusual modeling choices.
