I designed a custom case specifically for my Spacemouse wireless joystick, courtesy of 3DConnexion - widely regarded as the top joystick choice for CAD designers. When commuting with this heavy joystick, I realized the need for an impact-resistant case to safeguard against accidental drops that could easily shatter it. Additionally, I wanted a design that wouldn't interfere with the joystick's handle, ensuring smooth operation at all times. The case contacts only the metal base of the Spacemouse. A small cavity within the case accommodates my USB stick for convenient storage. For extra protection, I wrap the joystick in a small piece of velvet cloth before placing it inside the case - a recommendation I extend to you as well. The case's screw threads and grip patterns make quick work of assembly and disassembly, eliminating any hassle. Please take a look at the renderings above to get a better sense of this design.
