3D Camera mount for Oculus Rift (dev kit)
thingiverse
This updated version showcases gesture interaction with 3D cameras, a concept developed over ten years at SoftKinetic. The Oculus Rift now enables manipulation of 3D objects naturally through consumer products, making it very exciting. For a demonstration, check out this video link. The 3D camera mount for the Oculus Rift (dev kit) is compatible with Creative Senz3D cameras and can be purchased for $149. A sample Unity scene, along with sources, has been attached to help you get started. To assemble the hardware, attach LeftArm.stl and RightArm.stl to OculousMainPart.stl using a standard camera screw (1/4-20). You may also print CableClip.stl for attaching the camera cable to the Oculus cable. Both arm parts feature a flat face, allowing easy printing without support or raft. For software requirements, UNITY3D-Demo(With Sources).zip includes a Unity 3D build of what is seen in the video and editable sources. You need to download iisu Free v3.6 (registration required) from SoftKinetic's website and install Unity 3D for editing purposes.
