3D body-scan (structured light)
cults3d
This is a 3D scan of me captured using an ESUN structured light scanner, no affiliation with them. The scanner uses four towers featuring eight projectors and sixteen cameras. Each full scan takes approximately two seconds. Photos documenting the scanning process can be accessed here. Included are the raw OBJ output as well as a watertight, printable STL file. I am committed to Open Source principles and believe that this 3D scan is a worthwhile contribution, even if it's not a technical breakthrough. You're welcome to utilize this scan for your own projects, but please keep in mind that it represents an actual person who may see the final result. Be considerate. Update 8/30/15: A significantly improved version of the cleaned-up scan has been uploaded, courtesy of ESUN. This newer file does not exhibit the distorted facial features present in the original. It's labeled as "best version." Additionally, ESUN provided the texture file, which can be found within the zip archive.
