.38 SPCL Snap Cap Bullet
thingiverse
I often get asked by family members and friends if they can join me for target shooting. To make the experience more enjoyable for them, I like to explain how guns work in a relaxed setting at home, where they don't feel overwhelmed. To help them get accustomed to loading, cycling, un-jamming, and dry firing, I wanted to use snap caps. However, commercially available snap caps can be pricey, costing between $1 and $4 each depending on the material and where you buy them. So, I asked my local Facebook friends if any of them reload ammunition, and would they punch out old primers and resize some brass for me. Fortunately, someone stepped up to help. I then printed plastic bullets at a low cost of about 3 cents each. After tapping the hammer, I pressed them in, and now I have affordable, well-fitting snap caps that are perfect for practice.
