360 rig for phones
thingiverse
Research project where people bring their phones together to create a 360-degree video that can be uploaded to YouTube. These objects are the rig and phone supports used to assemble all the phones together. If filming in a closed space requires 12 or more phones, but for open spaces with a large field of view, you can use as few as 10 phones. Any phone will do, and there's already support design available for iPhone 5s, 6s, 6s Plus, Samsung S5, S5 Mini, and S7 Edge. If desired, the SolidWorks part can be customized to fit your needs. To stitch the video together and upload it to YouTube or any other platform, a tutorial is provided at https://fablabwgtn.github.io/Mobile-360/post/tutorial-stitch.html. Currently, finding common and open-source software can be a bit of a challenge, but you can use autopano or video-stitch if you prefer – they're easier, although more expensive. Alternatively, you could wait for Facebook or Google to release their open-source software.
