UPDATES *** 7/6/14 - I've uploaded a PDF Read Me guide (v.2) to using the adapter successfully. 6/16/14 - Updated files to enhance fit and reduce friction even further, resulting in improved performance. However, they may still be loose on some commercial canisters but now work flawlessly with CineStill film and possibly Kalt as well. Printing using 40% or 50% infill yields optimal results. *** Tested and fully functional, this adapter converts 35mm film for seamless use in 120 medium format cameras. By utilizing this, you obtain complete exposure of the film strip, sprocket holes included. Engineered to replicate a perfect copy of a 120 spool when the top and bottom parts are installed onto a 35mm film canister. Use an empty 120 spool as the take-up - modifying it by taping it in place to accept the 35mm film tail is relatively simple, making the slot thinner to securely grip the tail. The lower part prints out of the box without any modifications required. The upper part necessitates first being rotated 180 about X or Y so that it sits flat on the bed for printing. It's advisable to utilize 40% infill (even 50% is acceptable) due to the small cross-section of the splines. Do not apply excessive force when assembling adapters - instead, verify the splines are properly aligned and trim/sand or gently wiggle them if necessary. The splines may need trimming for an ideal fit on Kalt bulk loading canisters and other models. Taping over the viewing hole (usually a red window) on the camera with black gaffer's tape or some suitable opaque material is mandatory to avoid exposure of the film's back side. Unload about 1-1/2 turns at the start and gradually decrease the turns to 1 by the end, working blindly. Most medium format cameras lack rewind functionality, so it's essential to remove the film in a darkroom or changing bag before manually rewinding the 35mm film into its canister. When processing, make sure to specify "process only" and "do not cut," allowing you to manually separate the film yourself afterwards. These adapters were specifically designed for use with the Flyer 6x6 camera resulting from the Pinhole Printed Kickstarter project (http://pinholeprinted.com), but they can be applied universally in any 120 medium format camera.
