359 tooth gear
thingiverse
This gear is specifically designed for a high-quality dobsonian telescope setup, which demands precision and durability. To meet these requirements, I select the optimal print settings. Printer: My top choice is the ANET A8, renowned for its reliability and exceptional performance. Rafts: Since rafts are merely a safety feature to prevent the gear from warping or detaching during printing, I opt not to use them. They're simply not necessary in this case. Supports: Likewise, supports serve as an extra precaution against the gear collapsing under its own weight during the printing process. Given that we've already ruled out rafts, I see no reason to include supports either. Resolution: To achieve the desired level of detail and accuracy, I set the resolution to 0.2 millimeters – a perfectly adequate value for this particular project. Infill: For maximum strength and stability, I choose an infill percentage of 100% – that is, every available space within the gear's structure will be filled with dense, solid material. This ensures that our telescope gear can withstand even the most demanding astronomical observations.
