34' Ford Pickup Hot Rod

Inspired by Jimmy Shine's 34' Ford Pickup Rod, I embarked on a new project that would soon become an iconic masterpiece. A legend in the field of rod builders had created this incredible work of art, and I was determined to learn from it. Researching the internet for pictures and drawings became my top priority, as did tracking down a rare copy of "The Rodders Journal" edition No. 15 from 2001, which arrived all the way from the USA. With the model's radical features in mind, including its distinctive Suicide Front End, I knew I had to put in extra effort to get it just right. To make this project even more challenging and exciting, I decided to incorporate location points for 5mm bearings in both the rear and front axles, allowing for a radio-controlled model that would be a true marvel. As I worked on the motor and steering system, I made sure to include plenty of room in the back for additional motors and batteries. The result was a stunning model with a dash and steering wheel, complete with seats and a V8 hub cap. With over 60 parts to assemble, this project kept me busy for hours. To make it easier for others to build their own 34' Ford Pickup Rod, I decided to put the cab, tray/bed, and chassis up on my Shapeways shop as assembled pieces, available for purchase online at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/m-customs?section=34%27PICKUP&s=0. This rewarding model has been a true labor of love, and I'm thrilled to share the instructions with you in this video: https://youtu.be/PUeahTxWxY8.
