32 mm oblique filter stop for microscopes
thingiverse
This set of filters measures 32 mm OD and is 4 mm thick. I engineered it to fit snugly into a Leitz/Leica HM-LUX compound microscope's swing-out filter holder. A small knob on its bottom face allows you to feel for the hole and rotate the filter from underneath with ease. I've included micrographs of the epidermis of a succulent leaf, showcasing the oblique filter in action. The first image displays the filter at work, while the second micrograph, with its warmer tone, features standard brightfield lighting. Oblique lighting reveals more texture and presents cell contents in a contrasting view. Zoomed-in sections of these images are included as well. You can open the attached .f3d file in Fusion 360 to modify the filter's dimensions if desired.
