**Realtalk**: Printing boxes is a hassle unless you require a custom size or a lot of ports for wires and bolts. In those cases, other options are definitely better. Even with ports, [makercase](http://www.makercase.com) offers a browser-based CAD program for laser-cutting that's worth checking out. That being said, if printing an enclosure is your only choice, I'd advise not taking shortcuts. Keep in mind, I'm not criticizing the brothers Ruiz or Adafruit; they do outstanding work and I used their trellis enclosure as a template for mine. My issue with their design is that it's too flimsy and fragile unless you use very tough material at an extremely fine layer height. In a production setting, it's incredibly delicate. I need something that can withstand rough handling. It won't survive a two-story drop but might make it through minor mishaps like a desk-related spill.
