Painted ceramic fragment This fragment was part of a uniquely decorated bowl that featured a slightly curved shape. Geometric patterns were painted in vibrant red on a yellowish clay base. The vessel showcases the figurative style of painted pottery, which is exclusive to the Dacian Kingdom's capital region. Discovery location: Grădiştea de Munte – Sarmizegetusa Regia, located within the Orăştioara commune (Hunedoara County) Size details: foot ring diameter measures 11 cm Material composition: made from clay with a fine reddish paste Manufacturing process: created using a wheel-throwing technique and oxidation firing method Historical context: dates back to the second half of the 1st century AD, corresponding to the Late Iron Age (Dacian) Digitization process: captured through 3D laser scanning by a team from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca Data origin: provided by the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilization in Deva.
