30mm Flagstone Bases

30mm Flagstone Bases

These are my initial designs for 30mm bases, created with the intention of basing Warmhordes light infantry units. Others may find these useful as well, so I'm sharing them. The bases tend to be slightly smaller at their center (along the Z axis) due to printing limitations, which can lead to issues like shrinkage in the middle of the print if not addressed properly. To prevent this, it's recommended to use 50% or more infill and a minimum of five perimeter shells to retain the base's original size and shape. I'm considering an alternative approach to address any potential irregularities: making the bases slightly smaller so they fit neatly into the indentations found on genuine bases from Privateer Press, thus maintaining a precise base perimeter. However, this method may result in insufficient space for model details due to the reduced size of the piece. If anyone has other ideas or solutions, please feel free to share them with the community! UPDATE: Increasing infill to 50% (using rectilinear patterns) and ensuring at least five perimeters helps prevent base distortion after cooling. If you decide to print these bases, I encourage you to share your results with the community. Printer Settings: MakerGear is the printer brand used. The MakerGear M2 is the specific printer model employed. No supports were utilized during printing. A resolution of 0.2 was maintained throughout the process. Infill density is set at 50%. Additional notes: Using a minimum of five perimeters helps ensure that boundary edges remain intact and free from distortion.
