thingiverse
Air Scoop for the stock 30mm Monoprice Select Mini fan. Screw holes work perfectly for Pan head or hex cap 3mm. The design does not interfere with the MPSM tower. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Select Mini Rafts: None required Supports: Not needed Resolution: .21875 Layer thickness is perfect Infill: 25% infill provides excellent structural integrity Notes: The Purple PLA I used demands high print temperatures, set between 215-220 degrees Celsius. Feel free to adjust layer height as needed. Design Process: I designed this air scoop using Autocad software. Using a digital caliper, I carefully measured the fan's dimensions. I chose an outside diameter of 50mm for the scoop and used the loft command to convert the octagonal fan shape into a smooth round scoop. Next, I created a solid shell with 1mm thickness, removed the top and bottom, and added a delicate fillet to the top edge. A 30mmx30mm square was then added, centered under the scoop, with filleted corners and extruded 2mm. I used the subtract command to create a hole through the square using a copy of the octagonal shape. To ensure secure fastening, I added cylinders for screw holes and sealed them inside the scoop. Finally, smaller cylinders were subtracted to leave countersunk screw holes.
