The Raspberry Pi 3B+ is housed in a CanaKit premium case, but the 30mm fan riser needs to be modified for clearance of the heatsink without requiring top cover mounting. To achieve this, superglue the lower half of the riser to the case as shown in the image. The M3 screws from the fan will then thread securely into the sockets if not over-tightened.
