30A Power Supplly 120mm Fan Adapter
thingiverse
I grew tired of the obnoxious hum emanating from the low-cost fan on my standard Chinese-made power supply, which I use for numerous projects. I therefore created an adapter so that I could utilize a nearly silent 120mm magnetically suspended fan instead of the built-in 60mm fan that comes with the unit. This solution proved effective. To ensure proper alignment, I used Blender to offset the small flange towards one corner, thereby positioning the fan directly above the center of one end of the power supply rather than offset to one side. Technically speaking, this adaptation requires support during printing; however, in practical terms, it does not. The flange's small end becomes unsightly when printed without support, but it still functions perfectly once screws are inserted from the metal side. The top of the flange remains unaffected, and I am unconcerned about the aesthetics of a power supply fan that I prefer to keep out of sight anyway. Printing with 4mm layers works seamlessly as well. Given its design, there is no need for fine detail, making it suitable for quick and dirty prints. If you appreciate this adaptation and feel generous, consider supporting Foxpup. Any amount, big or small, is appreciated, but only give if it brings you joy, not out of a sense of obligation. All the good ideas that Foxpup receives originate from the Author of the universe and Foxpup merely passes them on. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Custom modified Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.4mm Notes: Low resolution is perfectly acceptable. I used 0.4mm, which is my lowest-res/fastest settings. No support is required if appearance does not matter. (It still functions anyway). Given its shape, it hardly needs any brim either. I began by utilizing the customizer to obtain the OpenSCAD script and then entered Blender to skew the small flange as necessary.
