Here's another piece of the Plasma cutter CNC puzzle - the belt tensioner. If you're just catching up, I've posted a couple of other parts earlier. In short, my system will use GT2 belts with matching pulleys and idlers, all sourced from Ebay. To assemble this part, besides the printed components, you'll need: * 2 x GT2 5mm bore idler pulleys * 2 x 5mm x 35 mm socket cap screws with 5mm nuts * 1 x 10-32 x 3" machine screw with 2 x 10-32 nuts * 1 x 10-32 x 1 3/4" machine screw with a 10-32 nut * 4 x #6 x 1/2" metal screws The assembly pictures should be self-explanatory, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a message. When installing the longest screw into the moving block, you'll notice that the plastic component has a section designed for a hex head. However, I'm using a round machine screw instead: this is because I couldn't find a M5 x 75mm bolt and had to improvise. By the way, some of you might be wondering why I mix metric and SAE bolts and screws in my projects. The reason is that I like to consider myself "mechanically bilingual." Plus, I use whatever materials are available in my workshop. Incidentally, 10-32 and 5mm threads can be easily interchanged without any issues.
