3018-Pro CNC Noctua Fan Upgrade
thingiverse
Upgrade for that VERY noisy fan on the 3018-Pro. I designed this to hold a 40mm Noctua fan. Unlike others I saw on here, this one is mounted below the surface to keep it closer to the board like the original was. It should work with the 40x40x10 fan, in the image is the 40x40x20 Noctua which is quieter and has more airflow than the thnner one. Not tried but should work with pretty much any 40mm 12v fan. The opening is VERY snug. If your first layers have any squishing/elephant foot happening, you may need to drag a razor (flat) across the edge to open it slightly. This will need supports. I printed mine with the back flat on the glass, but had some stick issues laying down the first few layers for the tiny supports inside the screw holes. I slowed the feed and speed down to 50% for the first few layers which fixed the issue. The Noctua fan comes with a small hardness and wire clips for 2-wire plugs. Basically, cut the wire off your current small fan and attach to the Noctua harness and should be good to go. Designed in mm.
