These components enable mounting a 100mm linear actuator as a replacement for the stock z axis assembly on a 3018 CNC router. The aluminum linear actuator is significantly stiffer than the stock plastic z axis, effectively doubling the available z axis travel. Required parts include: a linear actuator sourced from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L6W1GRG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) or Ebay, 4 M5x12mm screws, 8 M4x35mm screws, 2 M4 square nuts, POM anti-backlash nuts and spring, and 4 LM10UUx20 linear bearings (you can reuse the bearings from the stock assembly). The fixed anti-backlash nut screw holes are too closely spaced to allow room for screwing them into the mounting block. The clamp fits over the fixed nut to enable the nut to be connected to the mount. You will need to drill out a bit of the fixed nut flange to permit the screws to pass through. A POM plastic anti-backlash nut makes this much easier than drilling brass. Center the clamp on the mount by inserting the floating nut on the lead screw inside the hole of the mount. (It's even simpler with 2 nuts to keep the lead screw accurately centered). There is also a file available to print a template matching the stock mount, ensuring that the dimensions produced by your printer will fit. Printing in PETG on my Creality CR-10S resulted in very tight-fitting connections, but your mileage may vary. Additionally, there are files for printing spindle clamps for 42mm and 52mm spindle motors. If your 42mm spindle has a collar in the middle, the clamp will be quite tight, and you might want to scale it up slightly.
