Edit: 7/10/2019 - I updated the bearing block slider so that it has proper spacing, enabling smoother rolling. Edit: 12/13/2019 - Issues arose when my spindle fan ground against my z-axis stepper motor in certain situations, prompting me to add a v3 of the bearing block that sticks out an extra 2 mm to avoid interference. I designed this cast aluminum holder for use with the 500w spindle upgrade on the 3018 CNC. To ensure compatibility, I included specific requirements: - 4x m6 T-nuts - 4x m6 x 70mm bolts (m5 x 60mm were provided with the spindle) - 4x 8 mm linear bearings, 24 mm long and 15 mm diameter (standard length is 18 mm) This setup appears stiffer compared to the included all-plastic holder. The holes for the bearings and lead screw nut are 15.2mm and 10.2 mm in diameter. I printed it at a 45-degree angle with no supports. I recommend printing with 4 walls and 20%+ infill for optimal results.
