30 Years' War musketeer
thingiverse
I am a generic musketeer from the 1600s, and my miniature figures are quite detailed. The large one is about 1/60th scale, roughly the size of a Dungeons & Dragons character. In contrast, the smaller figure stands at 1/120th scale, equivalent to 15mm tall or half an inch in height, with five inches representing a foot. To be honest, my miniatures are quite rough around the edges, and I'm not sure how well they would hold up if I tried to replace the gun bracket with a brush bristle. In my opinion, it's barely passable and might be too fiddly for small-scale printing. Painting them could potentially make them look better, but that remains to be seen. My large miniature was printed with supports and tilted back at a 60-degree angle, while the smaller figure was printed on its base with some support lines. These lines were easy enough to remove, although it was a bit of a challenge around the gun bracket area. I think it works, but just barely. The other poses should be better because I can adjust their position for supportless printing, making them easier to produce. I've experienced issues exporting .stl files from Blender 2.80 for Cura. Fortunately, both 2.79b and 2.80 export the same mesh but in different file sizes. To maintain consistency, I choose to export my mesh from 2.79b instead. For reference, a standard six-sided die is about 15mm tall.
