At a height of 179.8m tall with 41 floors, the prominent building 30 St Mary Axe, commonly referred to as 'The Gherkin', was constructed in 2004 by Norman Foster & Partners, renowned architects behind several iconic structures such as the world's tallest bridge, the Millau Viaduct, a component of the New World Trade Centre's 200 Greenwich Street and London City Hall. Serving as the global headquarters for Swiss Re, 'The Gherkin' stands out as the UK's first environmentally sustainable skyscraper.
