3'x2' Acrylic Shield - Laser Optimized

This is a precision-cut pattern for a 2'x3' protective shield designed specifically for 1/4" thick acrylic sheets. The pieces feature integral tabs that make assembly seamless and hassle-free. Instructions: 1. Cut all the component parts with precision and accuracy. 2. Remove the film or paper mask from each piece, focusing on the edges where it will be bonded together. 3. Assemble the shield using masking tape to hold everything in place, taking care not to apply any glue during the assembly process. 4. Once fully assembled, carefully apply liquid welding cement to all edges, working with pieces that are standing upright to minimize runs and drips. For added protection, consider gluing on a large fleece blanket to prevent scratching and absorb any excess cement. 5. Allow at least an hour for the adhesive to set before removing the masking tape. We utilize SCITEK #4 cement, a specialized formula designed specifically for welding acrylic together. We do not recommend silicone-based adhesives as they tend to lose their bonding properties over time when applied to acrylic or plexiglass surfaces. For an easy alternative, clear strong packing tape can be used effectively. This design was inspired by various prototypes found online and is intended to be shared, adjusted, and adapted freely. Please note that this document does not provide any guidance on handling procedures for maintaining sterility. Our hospital did not have specific requirements regarding sterility upon delivery, as they sterilized the shields after receipt.
