We utilize compact compost boxes as plant beds in our garden, cultivating lettuce and vegetables with great success. The featured box is filled with nutrient-rich compost and currently hosts a thriving crop of small pumpkins. To protect the delicate plants from marauding animals that dig up the soil and devour the leaves, I employ creative solutions. Ductwork is repurposed to cover the boxes, featuring joints and feet that secure them in place. For optimal results, I either drape white thin fleece over the top as a mini-greenhouse or install wire mesh to shield the plants from unwanted predators. The pipes used in this design boast a diameter of 25 mm, making them an ideal choice for our project. Thanks to advanced printing technology, these parts can be produced without the need for supports. To print the pieces upside down, simply rotate the model 180 degrees, and voila!
