3 turn helix antenna 1.28 GHz for FPV
pinshape
So this is my version of a 3 turn helix antenna for my FPV setup, crafted with precision using 2mm stainless steel welding rods as the coil and a stove burner cover reflector, its thinness necessitating reinforcement to ensure stability. Edit: This design accommodates a RHCP holder; simply mirror it if you require a LHCP configuration. Edit2: Due to the stainless steel rod's hardness, I opted for 2mm galvanized steel wire as an alternative, facilitating easier soldering processes. Edit3: Additional tools have been integrated into the design to facilitate smoother rolling of the helix, specifically tailored for LHCP applications; mirror the setup for RHCP functionality. I designed this system by modeling the helix coil based on data generated by a calculator found at jcoppens.com/ant/helix/calc.en.php and then utilizing that model to precision-cut holes in the holder, ensuring an exact match with the wire used. This process was executed within Fusion 360's comprehensive design environment.
