I decided to create my own box design since existing ones on Thingiverse lacked lids. The box base is courtesy of makeabox.io, while everything else was designed using Corel DRAW. My previous project on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:923246) provided the hinges that join the lid to the base. The build process takes approximately 30 minutes for cutting but about three hours for assembly. A pair of short dowel segments secure each hinge, yet I'm inclined to substitute them with squared wooden or MDF pieces in future designs. Such modifications might necessitate altering washer and bar dimensions. Users have two options for placing the washers - either within the box or on its linking bars. The design accommodates 1/8 inch (3.2mm) material but can be scaled accordingly. To make adding engravings easier, I combined parts of the outer sides and top; however, some duplicate lines might still appear.
