3 starts lead screw
thingiverse
Inspired by PacManFan's Thingiverse design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9383, I share an OpenSCAD file that I found among my hundreds of stashes. Although I cleaned it up a bit, no warranty is provided for its performance. The STL may not fit perfectly, but I hope it will. To use this design, print the nut first, then create a small lead screw with a travel per turn of 36mm (unless you modify machines.xml). Note that the motor mount is hardcoded in the OpenSCAD file, so you might want to comment it out and place it in the platform using RepG. There are numerous parameters that could be tweaked for different motors or rods, but I haven't tested them. Enjoy this experimental print, which I created when bot1334 was less fine-tuned than it is now. Good luck with cleaning the lead screw, and perhaps consider using stepper extruders and PacManFan's advice to modify the code for better results!
