3 player chess board + matching figures
thingiverse
This is a three-player chessboard featuring me, Clifford, and Wizard23. To create it, use a Corel Draw file with black vector circles for cutting through and green vector hairlines to be engraved at 40% power and 100% speed. Rastered engraving should be used at 150 DPI on 3mm plywood or acrylic, then spray paint figures in white, black, or grey for a neat look. The game's rules involve three teams split by lines, with pieces moving like a regular chess board but crossing the board on straight lines leading to the inner circle causing them to reappear on the opposite side. Diagonal moves follow marked lines, and knight movements are defined individually. The goal is to have the last king standing, with remaining figures still in play but unable to win. Safe zones are rows 1-3, where figures cannot be taken out from another safe zone directly. However, crossing borders directly may lead to a short game. These rules are preliminary as they were only tested at Wizard23's birthday party. Share alternative rules in the comments below.
