Human: This is a unique 3x3x3 cubic puzzle, made up of three distinct pieces that must be assembled in the right sequence. Our model showcases several key mathematical concepts, including sequences, problem-solving skills, and different types of geometry. One sequence for assembly exists, but the puzzle can be put together in either direction. Logic and problem-solving abilities are essential both when creating new puzzles and solving existing ones. With each new cube created, a unique geometric shape is formed - one that is distinct from others due to its individual pieces and assembly techniques. Printer Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Notes: When printing these pieces, it's crucial to find the perfect temperature. If the bed is too cold, the pieces will pop off, while excessive heat can cause them to melt. We found that 87 degrees Fahrenheit was a sweet spot, and with plenty of hairspray, our prints turned out great. A cylindrical support is not part of the puzzle but helps prevent warping during printing by allowing one piece's tower to cool down. Designing This Puzzle This cube was inspired by Thingiverse user richgain's design, "Printable Interlocking Puzzle." We took his 3-piece design and modified it using Rhino to create our version. The process involved creating rectangular prisms and employing the Boolean Union function in the program. After printing a test run, we realized that our initial design didn't account for space between each piece, which caused fitting issues. To address this problem, we adjusted our design by widening gaps on each piece using the Wire Cut function to shave off 1-2 millimeters. Custom Section RY & KG 12/12/16
