The 3-inch Gun M5, a US-developed anti-tank weapon during WWII, integrated a 76.2mm barrel from the anti-aircraft gun T9 and elements of the 105mm howitzer M2. From 1943, it was exclusively supplied to US Army tank destroyer battalions. It witnessed action in the Italian Campaign and Northwest Europe campaign.
