In my recent update, I showcased a coin within a sphere setup, but this time, I've taken it up a notch with a small sphere nested inside two larger spheres - stopping at three layers. The large green sphere is slightly smaller than the red one, and you'll find STL files for the smallest (sphere 1 of 3) in both green and red variants, as well as two variations for the largest sphere (sphere 3 of 3). To make it more accessible, I also provide an SCAD file that is fully parameterized and heavily commented, making it easy to create your own spheres. My printer, an Ultimaker with an E3D hot end, worked perfectly with these STL files, allowing me to place the smaller sphere(s) inside while printing without any issues. The SCAD file even has a preview of a cut-away sphere inside another as a guide for determining appropriate clearance. I used different colors for the spheres in my photos, both for clarity and to emphasize that these were not made from a single piece. Imagining three or more spheres of the same color could create an eye-catching design!
