This second DIY 3-axis CNC machine was crafted primarily from MDF, with design work undertaken in Solidworks 2008 (approximately 50-60 hours). All the necessary source files and drawings are available in both Solidworks and edrawing formats. The construction process relied heavily on a previous CNC machine for smaller parts creation. Chinese linear rails and ball screws, sourced from eBay seller linearmotionbearings2008, were incorporated into the design. These components, combined with 1.8Nm stepper motors and geckodrive g540 technology, enable rapid rates of up to 5 meters per minute and feedrates of 3 meters per minute. The machine's working area measures around 110cm x 60cm x 10cm. The estimated cost to build a similar machine from scratch ranges between €1000-€1300, and the assembly process took over 80 hours.
