When the factory offered accommodation in exchange for being a human drug tester, it felt like a dream come true. Curtis has spent all his youth confined to the walls of The Distillery, hooked up to drugs that slowly kill him and medication that keeps him alive. He can leave at any time, but he's too far gone to understand hallucination from reality at this point.
