3/8in Metric Deep Socket Tray

3/8in Metric Deep Socket Tray

thingiverse

My socket set came with a metal rail that is useless when I want to use my sockets directly from my chest. This 3D print provides a tray where my sockets fit perfectly. The sockets are easy to grab and replace. Each hole has a label next to it showing the corresponding size, making selection even simpler. To make this print stand out, I do a filament colour swap towards the end so that the raised text pops in another colour. This makes it more visible. To set up the colour change, you need to use your slicer software. Setting up colours is easy using PrusaSlicer; other slicers probably are too. This socket tray matches my 10-piece Kinchrome 3/8" metric deep impact socket rail set. See https://www.kincrome.com.au/10p-deep-imp-skt-set-3-8dr-met Because the tray is longer than my printer can print, I've split it into two parts that clip together tightly. My print is made in PETG 1.75mm black and red filaments on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer with a 0.2mm layer height and 25% infill.
