The Acorn RISC PC has a 3.5in hard drive compartment located at its base, featuring an innovative mounting mechanism. Four screw holes on the drive's base pinpoint its position while a metal spring bracket securely holds it in place. This 3D-printable adapter accommodates a Startech "IDE2CF" adapter and modifies it to fit the RISC PC's one-of-a-kind hard drive compartment. First, attach two 5mm M3 standoffs (PC motherboard standoffs work perfectly) to the holes on the top surface. Next, secure the CFIDE to the bracket using M3 screws (e.g. PC motherboard or floppy drive screws). Insert a CF card, mount it in a drive bay, and connect the necessary cables. If desired, use the side or base screw holes to fasten the adapter in place by installing threaded inserts. This modification will make the holder easier to insert and remove.
