This is an adapter to screw to your 3.5in hdd and bolt it in a 2.5ssd/hdd location. for instance my desktop pc only has 1 location for a 3.5hdd but it has another spot ontop with a 2.5in hdd bolt pattern. so i used this to mount both my 3.5in hdd in the "basement" of my pc.
