3.5" SATA or IDE Vented HDD Enclosure

This is a remix of organicap's original design, but I added vents to the bottom and lid for enhanced cooling performance. The enclosure can hold either a SATA or IDE 3.5" hard drive or a 2.5" hard drive with an adapter secured by side-mounted screws. It can be used with or without the lid. There is a cutout in the back to accommodate various connections or adapters. You can use standard cables for temporary cloning, protecting your drive from movement and short circuits, or SATA or IDE to USB adapters. So, I shaved .5mm from the sides and 1mm from the front and back to allow for a bit of play. This makes it easier to insert and remove the hard drive, also aligning the mounting screws better. If you prefer the original tighter fit, use the STL file named HDD Vented External Enclosure Bottom v1. 04-30-2020 at 5:45pm EST Update: I've released another version of the enclosure with an open back for accommodating adapters. The STL files are named HDD Vented External Enclosure Bottom - Open Back v1 and HDD Vented External Enclosure Lid - Open Back v1. Printing Tip: No supports are required. In your slicer, make sure to orientate the bottom section correctly, with the bottom on the bed and the top of the lid on the bed.
