3.5" internal hard drive rail for Logisys XBlade ATX case
thingiverse
It's quite annoying when you try to install another hard drive but notice you either lost the extra drive rails, or if you acquire a computer from someone else who threw away the extra drive rails. Well, here goes. Here is a printable 3D model that seems to fit hard drives into the [Logisys CS859SL/CS859BK XBlade](https://www.game-debate.com/cases/index.php?ca_id=1489&cases=CS859SL%20XBlade%20Silver) Full sized ATX case (not sure why some sites claim this is micro ATX, it is clearly not!). There are 5 internal 3.5" bays that face from side to side of the tower case and each bay needs two of these. The connection end must face outwards - didn't seem like it was convenient or possible attach them in the other direction, or at least it would mean taking out the whole subchassis every time you want to mess with one disk. I read somewhere that the original ones were toolless but didn't want to take any chances and have oval cut-outs just to make sure - so you'll need four 6-32 x ¼" screws. Attach the rail to the rear of the disk near the power/data connectors - the two side holes of the three that are closer together. The click tab faces outwards, the slightly bent side faces inwards to the drive. This was meant to allow squeezing the tabs together to release the lock mechanism for removing the hard drive. I don't know if there are other cases that are compatible with these, there very well may be, there's no way for me to tell unfortunately. Have fun sticking in five 16TB disks or maybe higher, we're closing in to possibly getting 1PB home computer systems ... Sneeze on that measly 128GB smartphone. [Added pre-rotated in STL version.]
