This is a custom 3.5" HDD mount designed specifically for the Atomic Pi, featuring three key components: a ruggedized HDD case and two precision-cut spacers tailored to fit snugly around the Atomic Pi's compact form factor. Crafted with attention to detail, this DIY project incorporates a thoughtful design element - a 1mm gap surrounding the actual HDD - allowing users to easily integrate dampening material to mitigate vibrations and noise. To achieve this, I employed 1mm thick PEE (expanded polyethylene), a versatile and effective material for soundproofing applications. The mounting system utilizes screw holes designed specifically for 3mm metric screws, providing a secure and reliable fastening mechanism that ensures a stable connection between the HDD case and the Atomic Pi.
