3.5 HDD Hard Drive Rail
thingiverse
The item is a thin rail designed to connect with a typical 3.5" hard drive for installation within a tower computer. For years, I owned an unused hard drive because I lacked the necessary rails. Visiting local stores proved unhelpful and online searches were fruitless in finding suitable rails. Consequently, I turned to Thingiverse, where I found a solution using my Printrbot. Regrettably, it wasn't available there either. Undeterred, I used TinkerCAD to create the rail based on an existing one from my machine and made it freely accessible for others in need. Flat Slotted 6-32 x 3/8" machine screws with a tapered head, found at a hardware store, are used; however, any 6-32 x 3/8" flush screw should work. No specific printing instructions accompany this part.
