3/4" to 1" Bench Dog Hole Adapter
thingiverse
My new workbench arrived pre-drilled with 1" dog holes, instantly rendering all my 3/4" size clamps, dogs, and stops obsolete. No problem at all if you have a 3D printer and can design a simple adapter that fits snugly in the bench and has a 3/4" hole. My bench came with several 1" dogs I can use when the work piece needs to rest directly against the dog. Therefore, these adapters are designed to work with holdfasts, clamps, cookies, and other accessories that don't provide a vertical holding surface. That's why the lip at the top of the adapter is used only to keep the adapter from disappearing down the bench hole, not as a clamping surface. Several sizes are provided to accommodate different bench top thicknesses. If these don't suit your purpose, you can edit the files directly on Tinkercad: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/4NNVvsCegjO (3rd parties can ungroup these to tune them if needed; just let me know and I'll leave them ungrouped). When printed on a Prusa MK3s, PETG provided a perfect fit, while PLA was a bit too snug but still usable. Be sure to test-print the small one before committing to a large batch. UPDATE: A member asked for the objects in individual files so they can be sent out to print services. I've uploaded each object in its own file to this thing. Please let me know if print services can select the right file or if I need to upload them individually.
