I created this conversion kit to repurpose the 1/4-20 UNC thread at the top of a light stand, transforming it into a compatible 3/8" male National Pipe Taper (NPT) fitting. By screwing this adapter onto the stand's top and attaching a 1/2" PVC elbow, I extended two sections of 1/2" PVC pipe in opposite directions to create a makeshift backdrop support for virtual meetings during the pandemic. This solution can be applied in various scenarios where integrating PVC components with a tripod proves useful.
