Need a temporary fix for a steel pipe structure? This coupling can save you a trip to the hardware store as long as you're not standing on it. Even low-quality print settings on a MakerBot Rep 2 were good enough for the threads to work great. I'm happily using my steel pipe desk and might even continue to use this piece despite its temporary nature. This design is only suitable for light load-bearing steel pipe furniture or construction toy sets, not pipes in use with gas. As mentioned in the comments, it's not an air-tight seal and isn't rated for significant strength. If you're a user of Fusion360, you can design something like this within minutes and have it in your hands within an hour.
