3/4" Conduit Clamp - "F" Style
thingiverse
I crafted these "F" style clamps to enable me to print my own clamps, allowing me to create them as lengthy as I desire using 3/4" electrical conduit. A standard 36" clamp costs between $15 - $40. You can obtain a 10-foot piece of 3/4" EMT conduit for as little as $4.25. I conducted a rudimentary test to determine the kind of force these clamps could generate and achieved an average of 180 lbs on a bathroom scale. The maximum I was able to attain was 190 lbs; however, the components did not break, I simply couldn't twist the handle any further. The "dead end" of the clamp employs a #6 screw (3/4 inches long) and nut as a set screw to hold onto the conduit. The "live end" of the clamp (the end with the 3D printed screw) has two versions: one featuring a 3D printed latch that clamps onto the conduit, and one with a set screw like the other end. Both appear to have similar holding strength. The latch version of the live end utilizes a #10 screw (1-3/4 inch long) and lock-nut to secure the latch in place.
