This is a slightly modified 3.00mm filament variant of DiscoJohn's Taller Extruder Mount. This version removes some material from the "wing" section and uses a shorter bolt. It is designed to bolt to the upper mounting bolt of a Taz 3D printer, requiring a hexagon hotend. The Idler arm, latch, and Extruder Spacer are not my work, and are included for convenience only. Why add a taller extruder mount you ask? Why add extra plastic weight? The reason is simple. By extending the extruder body up to the upper bolt hole, you allow the extruder to tie directly into the carriage mount structure, eliminating front-to-back nozzle flex. Without this taller mount, a stock Taz toolhead can flex +/- 0.15mm forward or backward, particularly on corners when the extruded plastic drags on the part during a vector change. Printer Settings: Brand: LulzBot Model: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.5mm nozzle Infill: 85% or better Notes: This is an extruder body, so ABS or higher temperature material is recommended. Pre-generated built-in support. Post-Printing Instructions: Print as normal, remove the built-in support from the bearing pocket and the idler arm, install Extruder hardware as usual. You will need a longer bolt to replace the stock M3 extruder mount bolt (50mm long M3). They are generally difficult to find locally. I also usually glue the extruder spacer to the extruder body for convenience in mounting.
